NEW BRIGHTON TROTTING AND RACING CLUB.
The weather was so unfavourable during the early part of yesterday, and the counter-attractions of the Southland r Canterbury football match and the South Canterbury Races, accounted for the paucity of the attendance at the New Brighton Racing and Trotting Club's gathering. Rain fell till after the first race, when there was a change for the better, and though the course was made somewhat heavy, fairly good time was puc up by some of the beet of the horses.
