ASHBURTON TROTTING CLUB.
At the annual meeting of the Ashburton Trotting Club held on September 2nd, the Chairman, Mr J. C. Duucan, congratulated the Club on the great success which had attended tbe ettorts of the Committee last season. Goad sport had been provided, and after paying all expenses, including an extra irena of £35 for forming the neyv track, the balance sheet showed a credic of i>lo. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—President, Mr Donald McLean ; Vice-President, Mr D.iniel McKendry; Judge, Mr M. Stitt; Sarter, Mr A. J. Kelly ; Secretary, Mr D. Z.iuder; Treasurer, Mr J. C. Duncan; Committee, Messr* M. Friedlatider, H. J. Tasker, H. Zander, A. J. Kelly, Daniel McKeudry, and. J. C. Duncau ; Uandic.ippers, Messrs H. Stvce aud J. C. Duncan. Mr Duncau wa- elected Chairman of the Committee. The date of the Spring Meeting waa fixed for Wednesday, October 18ih. St. Hippo and the rest of the horses nominated by Mr L. D. Nathan for the Auckland Spring Meeting have been scratched.
