RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES.
Saturday. A raw cold morning.saw the work' on the tracks started rather earlier than usual. The Idler had Specton for a companion in Rood striding exercise, Victrls being apportioned similar work. Awarua Rose,looking muscular and well, and Retina, who is also seemingly in fine condition, were sent for useful After Wayland and Master Royal had put in a fast circuit the former continued on with Au Revoir. The new arrival, Tiritea, accompanied Gondolier and Kapua half Pace for a couple of rounds. Empire's portion was two miles at three-quarter speed, and Solomon and Jos Sedley had a somewhat similar task given them. Clarence had Jaffa and Radical for company in a couple of rounds covered at a strong pace. The Steeplechase candidate is looking bright well. Norton w»s restricted-to steady work as was also Kilnlne. Erin-Go-Brag-led Sheila and Vogcugana; over two miles at a good striding gallop. Balqulther jumped away from St. Barbe at exercise over the schooling hurdles. Cajolery was accompanied by Clanranald in his task, a fast round. The son of Apremont is very forward. Wil__re and Folly were kept at steady exercise, but Abel Tasman was stretched out, having the assistance of Launceatoj-. Mr Piper's horse, who has been doing a great lot of galloping, is In fine trim. : Others out did useful work.
