Waimate.—Our correspondent writes:— The weather has now cleared up, and the days are splendid, with frosty nights aud mornings. The ground is still too wet to allow of much farming to be done, but if the rain keeps off next week should see farmers hard at work again.—Arbor Day is to be celebrated by the planting of a double row of oak trees, one on each side of the road, commencing at Mr Goldsmith's corner and extending towards the hospital. The Borough Council have taken the matter in hand, and the holes are now dug and posts to protect the trees erected around the holes.
