INCOME ASSESSMENT ACT.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TBMCORAM.) WELLINGTON, June 27. In the Magistrate's Court this afternoon, Mr E. W. Morrah, Inspector of the Bank of Australasia, was summoned to answer three charges preferred by Mr Crombie under the the Income Assessment Act; first, for neglecting to forward within the stipulated time the mortgages held by the Bank; second, neglecting to furnish further and the fullest returns in May last; and thirdly, refusing to answer certain questions put by the Commissioner of Taxes. The proceedings were confined almost entirely to legal argument. Judgment was reserved.
