LODGE MEETINGS
The Young Crusader Juvenile Templ&rs held their weekly session on Thursday even* ing. After the business was transacted harmony was contributed by the following:— Bros. Eastwood, Smith, G. Bailey, and Sister Smith. Addresses were also delivered by adults and the D.S. J.T. The half-yearly meeting of the Loyal Benevolent Lodge, 1.0.0.F.,M.U., was held on the 26th inst. A large number of members and visiting brethren were present, and Bro. J. W. Bedford, N.G., presided. The sick visitors reported there was do one on the funds. One candidate was initiated by Bro. C. Foster, Lecture Master, assisted by Bros. P.P.G.M. Manks and P.G. King. The election of officers for the - the ensuing term resulted as follows:— Bros. J. Kennedy, F. A. Maling and A. ■ Palmer, N.G., V.G., and JS.S. respectively. The installation of officers was held over until the next Lodge night. Bro. A. Palmer; , D. Prov. G.M., in the absence of the Prov. G.M., returned thanks on behalf of the District Officers, and Bros. H. Spicer, V.G., Colling, N.G., and T. King, P.G., returned thanks on behalf of the Volunteer, Phillipstown and City of Chriatchurch Lodges. Receipts £76 9a. The half-yearly meeting of the Rangiora Lodge, 1.0.0. F., M.U., was held on Monday evening, at which there was a large attendance. It was decided to accept tue invitation of the Exhibition Committee to join in the procession on Friday. The officers elected were Bro. J. Frost, N.G., Bro. J. Carter, V.G., Bro. A. Miller, E.S., Bro. C. Todd, G.M. Bro. A. McCracken, the retiring G.M., was ordered to be presented with a saah and his name placed on the respect board. P.G.M. Bro. T. Nottingham and D. P. G.M. Bro. G. SelUrawere present, and a vote of thanks was accorded to them. Bro. J. Payne was appointed hallkeeper. A stable was ordered to be erected near the hall. Fifteen had been initiated since the first of the year, and the number of financial members was 255. The evening's receipts were £125 7s sd, expenditure £63 9s Id. At the Juvenile Lodge, Bro. A. Thome became G. M., and the officers elected were Bro. A. E. Bell, N.G,, Bro. W. Alford, V.G., Bro. H. Crysell, E.S. The receipts for the evening were £10 Iβ, expenditure £8 Hβ 6d.
