RIFLE SHOOTING.
The annual prize firing of the Waikari Martini-Henry Rifle Club was held on Friday. Ranges—2oo, 500 and 600 yards, seven shots ab each range. The day was a very favourable one for good scores, and Mr McFarlane, of Culverden, managed to geb on 95 oub of a possible 105. There were twenty-seven competitors for seventeen prizes, including one gold and two silver medals and valuable trophies from. the following:—E. Recce and Son, Ashby, Berg- and Co., Ballantyne and Co., M. Sandsbein, A. J. White, Plaisbed and Co., Lyttelton Times Co., Pemberbon, Tonkin, Sbaw, Vaughan, Michell and E. D. Giles. A social and ball in tbe Town Hall in bhe evening wound up a very successful day. The following were the prize-winners:—Mr J. McFarlane (scr) 200 yds 31, 500 yds 34, 600 yds 31—96; Mr J. R. Wakelin (scr) 34, 29, 34—87 ; Mr J. Cameron (scr) 32, 27, 25—84; Mr M. B. Shaw (scr) 27, 29, 17— 73; Mr D. McKay (scr) 25, 20, 27—72; Mr K. McKay (scr) 26, 21, 23—70 ; Mr T. H. Anderson (scr) 29, 30,11—70; Mr J. Dron (scr) 27, 21, 19—67; Mr H. Craig (scr) 25, 27,15—67; Mr C. Blake (3) 28, 22, 12— 65 ;Mr Jas. Neeve (11) 20,19, 15—65; Mr E. D. Giles (13) 26, 15, 11—65-; Mr E. Parish (16) 22, 22, 5—65; Mr G. Richardson (17) 23, 18, 7—65 ; Mr F. S. Stace (28) 20,15,2—65; Mr D. McLean (29) 24, 8, 4—65; Mr Jas. Glendinning (33) 19, 7, 6—65.
