Drunkenness. —For this offence a man, ■who had not been previously convicted, was fined sa, or in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. Larceny.— Joseph Davies, who had been convicted of stealing a gun, powder, flask, and shot pouch from a tent at Halswell, was again brought up and, on a favorable report from the Probation Officer, was released on probation for six months. Alleged Robbery fkom the Person.— David McAnliffe was charged with stealing a watch valued at £3 10s and 15s in money from Robert Kay in the Zetland Arms Hotel on May 16th. He admitted having taken the watch, but denied any knowledge of the money. As two other men were already in custody and had been remanded on the same charge, the prisoner was also remanded till May 22nd.
