ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

AUCKLAND, May 18.
Richard Sandall, a well-known amateur boxer, dropped dead in his shop this morning, after a frisndly tussle with a young man named Edward Burke over the possession of a packet of cigarettes. The deceased was aged 27 years, married, but had no family. Sandall was one of the defendants in the case in connection with the fatal glove fight which resulted in the death of Richard Forgie WESTPORT, May 18. Late this afternoon Mark Dixon, a miner at Coalbrookdale, fell from the roof while working and broke an arm and leg. Dixon is an elderly man and unmarried.
An accident happened to Captain Malcolmson on board the Seagull, at Duvauchelles, on Wednesday morning. The captain was hauling a rope, and in conse* quence of the deck'being wet and slippery, fell heavily. Dr. Fisher was quickly in attendance and Maicoh—son is progressing favourably. ■_■ - -
