HUNTING.
On Saturday, 13th inst., the followers of the Christchurch Hounds had two really pood ruus in the neighbourhood of the Old Kennels, Messrs Wilcox, Ryan and Brady having kindly given permission to the Club to hunt over their properties. On Tuesday, 16th, the meet was at Mr John Overton's. Marcbwood, a most popular trysting place, and one which again kept up its reputation as being one of the most enjoyable days which fall-- to the lot of the members of the C.H.C. Not only did Mr Overton entertain the held most royally, having a large marquee erected for the reception of bis guest-s, bat also provided a really first-rate day's sport. Hares were a little scarce at first, but afterwards there were jusc enough of them, and three were killed, each after a good ran, two of tbe runs being very fast over a good hunting country. The weather also being fine there must have been quite eighty persons present, including many ladies, and Mr and Mrs ' and the Miss Overtone vied with each other in their attention to their guests.
