LAKE ELLESMERE LANDS.
TO THB _»ITOR OF THB PRESS. Sib, —four correspondent, "One who was Pn.oit," evidently does not understand my objc-t in writing on thia subject, but attributes it to a lack of sense on my part, %he result of not being "sufficiently interested to solve the unemployed question,.'' (That I do not pretend to possess a superabundance of that commodity must appear when I again say I cannot see how Mr Barnett's scheme can by the expenditure of £12,000 provide remunerative work for the unemployed during twenty years, unless ins system of arithmetic be the same as _at practiced by "0. W. W. P." in his reply to mine, in which he cuts up 30,000 .acres of reclaimed land into two blocks of 10,000 acres each and two blocks of 50,000 •acres each, 1 confess I do not understand .this system. lam not" so well up in arithmetic " as to be able to get two tens and -two fifties out of thirty. If the 30,000 acres can be thus cut up, and if the rent for -each block is to be what "O. W. W. P." viz., 10s, 7s od, ss, and 2s 6d, it woks as though the total may be £1 5s per y-nnm —Yours, &C.,
