A mixed team of the Midland Club met and defeated by 29 rune on the first innings fifteen of the Irvvell Club at Hagley Park on Friday. The visitors scored 102 (W. J. Smith making 26, W. Dunn 22 not out, and R. Graham 15), and 35 for seven wiokete. The Midland innings realised 131, Barge contributing 33, Woodward 24, Ashby 22, Schmoll 20, and Munford 16. Graham, Lunn and G. Rhodes bowled well for the visitors, as did Ashby and Richards for the Midland.

A team of the Addington Club defeated West Melton, at Hagley Park yesterday, by an innings and 21 runs. Scores :—West Melton, 69 (Wilson 12, and J. Siaclair, Thompson and Trickett, 10 each) and 45; Addington, 135 (Malone 42, Jones 21, and Clarke and Treloar 19 each). Malone and Caygill bowled well for the winners, while Wilson captured the majority of the wicket 3 for the other sida.

A match between.the St. Albans and Ashburton Clubs was played at Ashburton yesterday, and resulted in a win for the St. Albans team by 61 runs on the first innings. Ashburtou went first to the wickets, and were all disposed of for the small total of 19 runs, Mitchell (11) being the only batsman with double figures. St. Albans responded with 80, C. Colville (18), Hardy (16), Lawrence (14) and Smith (10) being the highest scorers. In the second innings Ashburton put together 121, the highest scorers being Buchanan (22), Denshire (16), Fooks (21), alitchell (31) and Chapman (13). At the oall of time the St. Albans team had compiled 36 for the loss of seven wickets, out of which Smith made 15.

A maich in connection with the North Canterbury Association was played at Rangiora on Saturday between the Cust and Ashley County Second. The former made 76, Cooper and Tipping 13 each, Head 12, White 11, being highest scorers. Ashley County 117. Cave 22, Allan 20, Volckman 18, Gower 16, and C. D'Auvergne 14, thus winning by 41 runs. Bromley bowled best for the Cust, and all the County got wickets.
