RICHMOND.
Mr J. Abercrombie was voted to the chair, and there was a comparatively small attendance. The election of the Committee waa v taken first. Seven candidates had been previously nominated, and as only two more were nominated at the meeting no ballot was taken, and the following were declared elected;— Messrs W. Snowball, J, G. Arraitage, G. Petrie, J. Hughes, J. Bell, J. Abercrombie, A. Mander, W. C. Shaw and W. Barlow. The annual report, among other things, stated that the number of children on the roll on March 31st, 1891,
was 605; average* attendance, 618 j number on roll, March 31st, 1892, 572 ; average attendance, 513; number presented at last examination, 665, of whom 53 failed, showing a percentage of 58.76, The report on sewing, knitting and darning was also satisfactory. The Committee stated -'that, a site had been procured for baths, and every assistance for their construction was invited. The balance sheet " showed that the receipts had been £166:18s 5d and the expenditure £153 lis 4d (exclusive of £1268 Is received and paid for salaries), leaving a credit, balance of £13 7s.'ld. The report and balance sheet were adopted without discussion. The new Committee subsequently met and elected Mr 'Abercrombie Chairman for the ensuing year. . '~. . - .'■- ; ..'■ •"''. _ -.
