\ Mon»ay, Aran. 25. i. The City Coanoil met,at the usual hour. Present—The Mayor (in the Chair), Crs. Thomson, Goss, Cooper, Boanington, Wood, ■Swan, -liL Smithy Gray, VYiddowson, Appleby, Calder, Elesher, J*. T. Smith and ©apes. The receipts for the past fortnight were reported, to be :—General account, £401 6s 4d; cemetery account, £17 Is 6d; suspense ' account, £37 Ss Id ; interest account, £31 j 25s 3d. The debit balance a+- the bank was stated, as being £553.41 193 9d* Accounts .were passed as under:—General account, £351 5s 5d j suspense account, £10 ss. . The MayOK said that with regard to the conference with the Fire Insurance Association some misunderstanding- had occurred as to the date. It was now probable that the meeting, would take place during tho week. .
