TRAINING SHIP.
TO THE BDITOB OP THE PRESS. Sir, —I wish to bring under the notice of the public a scheme which I am sure would be a great benefit to the colony, ia the form of a training ship at Lyttelton for our boys. Surely we have got eorae gentlemen who will start it, and then we ought to be able to arrange matters so that it would keep itself going. Say get a ship that would accommodate one hundred boys from sixteen to seventeen, train them until they are eighteen, then supply them to the liau Squadron at so much for training thorn, and we would always have a good naval reserve. Our Navals would greatly beuefit by it. Trusting someone more able will take it up, I remain, —Yours, &c, W.S.
