RANGIORA.
The annual election of three Councillors for the borough of Rangiora was held on Thursday. There were four candidates, including the three retiring Councillors, viz. : —Messrs J. Dobson, G. Cone, C. J. Jennings and J. Sansom. There was a considerable amount of interest shown in the election, and the following are the numbers polled:— J. Dobson..* ... ... 162 J. Sansom .« ... 116 J. Jennings ... ... 108 G. Cone 100 The three first named were declared duly elected. The candidates all expressed their thanks for the votes they had received, and a vote of thanks to the Returning Officer concluded the proceedings.
