There appears to be a consensus of opinion among the witnesses examined at the Marine Board inquiry into the collision between the Easby and Gambier, that the Easby did not at once send a boat to the assistance of the einking ship. Received September 11th, 1.30 a.m. Mblboubsb, September 10. Captaia Prideaux, of the Easby, ia his evidence before the Marine Board, said he regarded his ship as the crossing vessel, and aoSed accordingly. Within two minutes after the collision a boat waa lowered to ascertain what damage the Gambier had suffered.
