Nominations for the Lower Heathcote Racing Club's forthcoming Trotting Meeting close on Saturday evening next at the Al Hotel. Particulars of the various events -will be found elsewhere.
An adjourned meeting o£ the Canterbury Trotting Club was held at the Af Hotel last night, when there were present Messrs Amyes (in the chair), Williams, Tonks, Mace, H. J. Derrett, A. Duncan, Marr, Myers, Mnlholland, Kerridge. Hislop, Walker and Barns. Considerable discussion took place re the election of new members, and ultimately it was resolved that the matter of election of members stand over until a future meeting. Ie -was decided to advertise for applications for the post of handicapper for the coming year at a remuneration of sga per meeting. The next trotting meeting was fixed for Friday, October 23rd. The programme was naxt gone into, and it was decided to give .£275 in stakes divided over eight events.
