PIGEON-FLYING.
The Christchurch Pigeon-flying Club were very fortunate in having such a perfect day lor holding their long-distance race, which was flown from Oamaru on Saturday. Tbe little voyagers started on their loug journey at 11 a.m., and the winners arrived at their destination at 1.53 p.m., having compassed the journey in the respectable time of 2 hours 53 minutes, which constitutes a record for this distance. The Club have to thank Mr Geo. Tompkins, of Oamaru, for looking after and liberating the birds. The following is the result:— uiru. pep Minate# W. Jackman .. Cathedral 1470 W. Jackman ..
