The Daily News estimates tbe American wheat crop will give a total yield of 550,000,000 bushels, of which 190,500,000 busbels will be available for export to meet European requirements. The Colonial stock sales this week have been small. Business on 'Change ia ttagnant, the brokers being away for the holidays. A favorable change is expected in the autumn. Received August 9th, 6 p.n_. London, August 8. Tlte Times, in referring to the English harvest, considers it will be late and below the average. New York, August 8. There is a considerable demand here for wheat on behalf of Russia. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Christchurch, have reoeived the following London cable message, dated 7th August:—Tallow is in good demand. Fine mutton tallow is worth 27s 9d and good beef 26s 3d per cwt. Frozen Meat —Mutton market has a downward tendency. Beef market is easier. Lamb market quiet. Price of lamb has declined id per lb.
