INSPECTOR OF COAL MINES.

(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, July 22. Mr Lomas, who was Secretary to the Amalgamated Unions and Laborers' Association, has been appointed by Government to inspect and report on all the mines in the colony. Thia will occupy three months, at the end of which time Mr Lomas will be made head of the Labor Bureau. He was about to go Home, and had his passage booked when the appointment was offered.

(FROM OUR CORRESPO-TDBNT.) WELLINGTON, July 22. Mr Lomas is doing some temporary work in connection with the inspection of coal mines, but it is absolutely untrue that he is to be appointed the head of the Labor Bureau Department.
