NEW ZEALAND KENNEL CLUB.
A meeting of the representatives of the above Club was held in Warner's Hotel last night. Mr Dombrain was in the chair, and the delegates present were Mr W. Carlton (Dunedin Poultry and Dog Society), Mr R. A. Crawshaw (Otago Poultry and Dog Society), Mr F. J. Kimbell (Christchurch Dog Society), Mr Hamer (Vice-President of the New Zealand Kennel Club), Mr H. N. Anderson (Hon. Treasurer), and Mr Bellhouse (Hon. Secretary). Correspondence was read from the Live Stock Department as follows: —"I am directed by the Hon. the Minister for Lands to acknowledge the receipt of your letters in reference to alteration in the quarantine regulations for dogs, and to inform you that it is intended, as soon as further information is obtained, to revise the regulations for the introduction of stock into the colony, when the subject of your letters will receive attention." Correspondence was also read from Mr Triggs (Wellington) and Mr Meyers (Dunedin.)
The following resolutions were carried:— " That the Executive Committee shall consist of two members from each affiliated Club or Society ; one of such members shall be the President of the Club or Society he represents. Each Club or Society shall pay to the New Zealand Kennel Club the sum of ; one guinea per annum as its subscription. The New Zealand Kennel Club will not bold dog shows, but will encourage the J same by giving trophies to the Clubs or Societies of the value of not less than twothirds of the amount oi registration fees and subscriptions received from each Club or Society annually. For the first three years from date the headquarters of the New Zealand Kennel Club shall be Christchurch, after which it may be in either of the other centres of the colony. The President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer shall be elected by the delegates of the Clubs or Societies at each annual meeting in ApriL The Executive Committee may elect any number of Patrons, who shall pay a subscription of ten and sixpence (10s 6d) annually. Should any delegate be unable to attend any meeting of. the Executive, then the Club or Society to which he belongs shall be ao liberty to appoint substitute. The owner of any dog - is registered in the New Zealand Kenn 1 Club's Stud Book shall not be at liberty c exhibit such dog at any show in Ne*° Zealand unless such show is held undew the New Zealand Kennel Club Rules. An r breach of this rule renders the owney of such dog liable to disqualificatio r during the pleasure of the Committeen In view of the anticipated revision o. quarantine • regulations, and the greate f facilities given for importation, no prefixer which are registered in the English Kennes Club Stud Book shall be allowed to be re 1 gistered in the New Zealand Kennel Clv - Stud Book. Anyone wishing to register b prefix must pay a fee of one guinea. Ala dogs that have been registered previous tol June 17th, 1891, by the various Clubs now affiliating with the New Zealand Kennel Club, shall be entered in the letter's stud book free of charge. After a considerable amount of routine business, the meeting adjourned tine die.
