THE BISHOP OF NELSON.

TO THB XDITOR OF THB FBXS3. Sm,—A newspaper here publishes ft paragraph to the effect that it ia "rumored".that a clergyman of this city has been requested to allow himself to be nominated to the Bishopric of Nelson. Ia it not a rather indeccut proceeding to give publicity to such rumors in view of the fact that Bishop Suter has neither resigned his office nor expressed his intention of doing so, nor, so far as his friends aware, is likely to resign f Does it occur to those who are re-. sponsible for such "rumors" that they are doing an injury to the gentlemen referred to f Englishmen do not like to have the " running pricked " beforehand, and are likely to resent tbe attempt to " lead " them by voting against the names thus thrust upon them.—Yours, &c, Churchman. , Juue 2nd.
