A general meeting of the Canterbury Rugby Union takes place this evening, at which the most. important business will probably be the discussion of the Referee and Umpires question. Prior to this meeting the umpires and representatives from the Clubs are expected, according to the motion of the adjournment of the last meeting, to assemble to consider the matter referred to in order that some definite scheme may be presented for the approval of the Union. A match, Lincoln College v Leeston, was played at Lincoln on Saturday, and, after a closely fought game, resulted in a win for the College by 5 points to 4 (1 goal and 2 tries to 1 goal and 1 try). The game was fast throughout, the running and kicking on both sides being very good. For Leeston, Graham and Donald each obtained tries, the former converting one of them,' whilst fer the College Murray scored 1 try and Jollie 2 tries, the latter converting one. Besides these, Rennie, Butler, . Moorehead, and Webster played well for Leeston, and Wise, Acton-Adams, Fisher, and Lloyd all did good service for the College.
