PROHIBITION IN MALVERN.

TO THE EDITOR OF THB PRESS. Snt, —On Monday, June Ist, the election of the Licensing Committee for the Malvern District takes place, and I would much like to put a few points before the residents in the above district prior to their election of the Committee. In the Malvern district the "prohibitionists" and "moderates" (to give the others a name—though a few of them would be better named " immoderates") are fairly equally distributed.' Let us suppose, for sake of argument, that the moderate candidates aro elected. What will be the result ? Why things will Son just as they have been doing tor the t three years and more. Many of the publichouses will still entice young fellows, and, sad to relate, even married men' come in to play billiards, " wet their whistles" (when they are dry, and sometimes when they are not), thus drawing them from their homes and sending them to the dogs "at a fine rate. What is the use of hotels t Their only use is that of affording accommodation to travellers (and, someone will say, rooms tor. meetings; but what takes < place after the meetings ?) which could be provided : *y boardiag-houssa. &»

and then,'but going to the bad throuX «? ***3_**. And I am sure that »iT ,*«»& Z*** derive from kuowtog £? FV*«i
