An attempt has lately been made to rdlse the prices of photographs, but owing to our opposition the attempt was unsuccessful. Our reply to the deputation waa to the following effect:—l. That by recent Improvements photography has become so simple that it is now only deserving Of trade profits, and photographers are not justified in charging the public 300 to 400 per cent, profit as of old, when photo* (traphy was a profession requiring years of Study. 4. That at our present prices we-are enabled to pay the beat rent and salaries, besides the extra expenses accruing to a public company, and will be able to meet i onr shareholders with a substantial dividend at the close of onr financial year.
