WEIAJNGTON^ May 8L The appointment of Judge Ward to be Judge of the District Court of Westkmd, and Judge L. Broad to be Resident Magistrate and Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nelson are gazetted. It is notified in a 'despatch from tho Secretary of State for the Colonies, that the Spanish Ambassador in linden has given notice on behalf of his Government to terminate the commercial convention ol 26th of April, 1886, between Great Britain and Spain, which will accordingly expire 09 30th of June, 1898.
