ST. ANDREW'S CHURCH.
A well attended meeting of the congregation of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church was held onMondayevening.theßev. Gordon Webster presiding, to decide upon the plans and proposals of the Deacons 7 Court with reference to the reconstruction of the church On the motion of Mr J. Deans, seconded byMr Powrie, it was unanimously agreed that the plans submitted for the reconstruction of the church be approved of and adopted. Mr W. Boag moved, and Mr D. Craig se conded, and it was unanimously carried, "That evtery person connected with the Church be asked to contribute, the subscriptions to be taken in four or six quarterly instalments as might suit the convenience of the people." It was further resolved, on the motion of Mr Geo. Croll, seconded by Mr T. Elmsly—"That the foregoing resolutions be read from the pulpit, anduitimation made that the congregation be visited immediately by the deacons, with a view to obtaining subscriptions." The Chairman exhibited the plans, and explained them in some detail to the meeting. The unanimous opinion was that Mr rTw. England, jun., the architect, had been very happy in his designs, and that both internally and externally the new church will be exceedingly pretty and attractive. It is expected that by the end of the present year the work will be completed. _________
