THE MIDLAND RAILWAY
The following telegram was sent to the Hon. J. Ballance on Saturday : —"Railway League—Large public meeting last night at Oddfellows' Hall. Telegrams received expressing sympathy and approval from Chamber of Commerce, Nelson, the Mayor of Greymouth, the Railway League Dunedin, and Sir John Hall. The following members of the House of Representatives were present :■»—Messrs Perceval, R. M. Taylor, and Tanner. The following resolutions were unanimously and enthusiastically carried (resolutions, which have already been reported, were appended).—C. M. Gray ; Acrox Adams. " It may be noted that Mr Forster, the Hon. Secretary, is now actively engaged in canvassing for subscriptions in aid of the League, and his efforts are meeting with a fairly liberal response.
