Lisbon, May ID. It is stated that the King of Portugal is inclined to abdicate. The Government intends to issue a paper ourrency. There is a panic among the depositors. It is reported that the King is summoning a Council of the Republicans.
Keceived May 17th, 5.10 p.m. Lisbon, May 16. The issue of paper currency has been postponed.
Keceived May 17th, 6 p.m. Lisbon, May 16. The Portuguese Ministry has resigned. The financial crisis still continues.
