R.M.S.S. IONIC.
On March 23rd the Shaw, Savill and Albion Compauy's line Royal Mail steamer lonic, commanded by Lieutenant W. 11. Kidley, R.N.R., arrived from Port Chalmers, tihe only bad a very short stay in this port, aud lefc for WeUington, her final oue in the colony, on Monday, _7th. The lonic left Loudon on February 22nd, but ou reaching Graveseud, owing to the dense fog, she anchored until the _Gth, wheu it cleared a little, and another start was made, and by the time sho breasted Dover the Hag bad entirely disappeared. Arrived at Plymouth ac 3.21 p.m. on tbe 27ch, embarked passengers and mails, and lefc again at 4.24 p.m. ; experienced line weather to arrival at Teneriil'e at 10.30 a.m. on March 4th ; coaled, aud left ng*in at 5.4S p.m. same day. Took the N.E. trades iv lac. 10 N., which gave ouC in hit. 10 N. Thence she had moderate variable winds to lat. 5 S., when the S.E. trades set in. They were fresh, and carried her to lat. 25 S., followed by variable winds to arrival at Table Bay at 6.1S a.m. on Marcn 2)th. Coaled aud lefc again at 1.40 p.m. same day. Experienced moderate westerly winds until she reached long. 40 E., followed by light variable winds and calms to arrival at Hobart at 2 a.m. on April Bth. Discharged cargo, and lefc again at 4.30 p.m. same day, reaching Wellington at 0.30 a.m. ou the loth. Discharged quantity of cargo, aud left again at 0 a.m. on the 18th, eucouutered heavy southerly winds down the coast, and arrived at Port Chalmers Monday. She left for Lyttelton at 1 p.m. ou Wednesday, and arrived here as above.
