JUSTIFIABLE PROVOCATION.

The word Watkrbtjry (the name of the city in the U.S.A. where these celebrated watches are manufactured) has become a synonym throughout these colonies, as elsewhere, for all that Is exact and trustworthy as regards to pocket timepieces. The Waterbury watches themselves provoke the admiration otall who wear them. The testimony in their favor is overwhelming, and admits of no dispute, while their reputation statfds absolutely unrivalled. All their parts are made by the most beautiful automatic machinery, so wonderruiiy perfect that it would seem impossible for human ingenuity to accomplish more, xne Australasian Agents of the W aterbury Watch Company have received thousands of testimonials from grateful wearers of their watches, and every mail brings fresri evidence ia support of their wonderful popularity. The following are a few samples of the opinions of those, who, having worn these watches, have learned from experience to appreciate their excellent qualities:—Messrs Mudie & Co., general storekeepers, Warrumbuncul, write under date July 30th, 1890 :—"""We have received the watches sent by you, which have given great satisfaction. I've seen a good many of" the watches, and it is the general opinion that they are good, cheap watches." Mr James Buckley, Hanging Rock, February 7th, 1890, writes:—'l consider the Waterbury Watch one of the premier watches of the age, *end an invaluable boon to miners and bushmen. Considering tho number in use in this district, there can be no two opinions as to the general satisfaction they give." Mr Geo. Plummer, storekeeper, Dubbo, July ISth, IS9O, writes:—" I am using one of•J' Waterburys with every satisfaction, and have sold scores. In no case have I had any complaints from buyers." Mr Georoe Alywyn, Gurley station, Narrabri, August 22nd, 1890, writes:—"l have carried one of the old series Waterbury Watches for over two years, doing a good deal of riding, and have found it give entire satisfaction, and it has never yet required repair. I have now been using one of the " J " series for the last year, and find it equal to the best watch I ever had."
