MIDLAND RAILWAY LEAGUE.
TELEGRAM TO HON. R. J. SEDDON.
The Executive Com* nittee of the Railway League yesterday forwarded the following telegram to the "wWi R. Seddon, Minister of public Works: — " Executive Railway League considered your telegram, also memo, thereon from Midland Company. Company have promised —-{prove grade between L- tha and Brunnerton reducing whole line to Arthur's Pass from 1 in 48 to 1 to 60, which considering coal traffic is great advantage to collieries and Canterbury consumers.
