LABOR QUESTIONS.

Received April _ttk, 7.30 p.m. New York, April 23, Twelve thousand colliers in Pittsburg have refused to go out on strike for eight hours a day, aud their decision has dismayed those who are promoting a general strike in May. In tfcotdale the cokemen continue fierce opposition to the evictions, and serious disturbances have taken place. The military have been called out to preserve order, and during the riot one mau was killed, Received April 21th. s P.m. Melbourne, April 24. The Trades Congress at Ballarat has carried a resolution to the effect that it is convinced that a general recognition of the eight hours system can only be obtained by legislation. Eecelved April 25tb, 12.30 a,m. Mei_bou__ne, April 24, The Trades Congress has .decided in favor of a registered trade mark for goods produced by Union labor.
