Davitt as the representative of Mr Justin McCarthy's party in the Government Labor Commission. Received April 7th, 1.30 a.m. Paris, April 5. The Miners' Congress has passed a resolution requesting the various Government, to legislate in the direction of having eight hours recognised as a day's work, and threatening that unless this is done, a general strike will take place. Washington, April 5. Six hundred miners have struck work at Nevada. Received April 7th. 1.15 a.m. Madrid, April 6. Government is taking steps to regulate the hours of labor for women and children, aud will also legislate in the direction of iestricting Sunday work. ; '.
