RIFLE SHOOTING.
ALPHA RIFLE CLUB CHAMPIOV SHIP.
On Saturday tbe members of the Alpha Martini-Henry Rifle Club fired a match tc decide the championship of the Club fot the season. Thirteen members competed. The weather was most unfavorable. A stiff sou-wester accompanied by squalls of rain prevailed, aud the light waa consequently very bad. The winner proved to be Mr O. W. Turplu, whose score of 87, considering the weather, was an excellent one. He took the gold medal value £2 2a given by the President of the Club, Mr W. H. Wynn Williams. Mr E. Hardcastle took the second prize, a trophy value £2 2s, given by Mr R. Struthers, Vice-Presi-dent ; Mr W. A. Banks, third, a silver medal value £1 Is, given by Mr A. Gundersen, Vice-President; Mr A. W. Jones fourth, value £1 10s, given by Mr Eden George, Vice-President; Mr A, Manning fifth, value 10s 6d, given by Mr J. P. Drake. The prizes will be presented by the President on a date to be notified to members.
