BLACK SHAGS.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Siß.—Through your help, and for the benefit of < the. poblic, I snail ask you to insert the following facts in your paper :— On Wednesday we shot one of the black shags in oar creek. It bad been observed to settle where we knew we had carp. As a matter of course, being shot, he fell, but what was oar surprise to find that he had disgorged » carp- folly 6in long, and I feel certain that his was as much as his length. The said carp was no worse for his trip, excepting that bis sides are torn, bat tie is all right in our tank. What I should like all to know is, to keep black shags down. See what mischief they can perpetrate on our imported flan, and within five minutes.—Yours, &c, ■ R. R. Bbadlbv. Charteris Bay, april 3rd, 1891.
