THE CITY RESERVES.
TO THB EDITOR OS* THE PRESS. Sm,—l. in common with hundreds ot others, fully endorse the sentiments expressed by your correspondent •-Ciy-sen* in your issue of Thursday last with fegard to letting the river reserves for the erection of swimming for any other purpose whatever. Our river Is our prettiest feature, bat it sadly needs improvement, and instead of utilising any portion of the reserves between the river and Cambridge and Oxford Terraces the City Couacii would earn the thanks of che Whole community by sweeping away their present Municipal yard, and utilising tbe section on the South Belt, which cost the ratepayers -£1000, an expense the Coducil were not justified in incurring in tbe face of a large and' increasing overdraft. What a vast improvement the throwing open that part of the river opposite the Municipal buildings would be to' the city generally.—Yours, Sac .-..
