News from Madagascar states that Governor Belanaca massacred 278 men, women, and children, on tha pretence that they were rebels. SPEECH BY LORD SALISBURY. Lord Salisbury, speaking at the banquet given by the Associated Chambers of Commerce, said that two dark shadows threatened the trade of Great Britain. One was the revival of protection, especially in France and America, arid ' the other was the struggle between capital and labor at Home. The Grand Lodge of English Freemasons, at the instance of the Prince of Wales, have considered Sir Robt. Stout's connection with the Wellington Grand Orient Lodge, and have resolved to deprive Sir Robert of his rank in the Lodge of England, and to inform the Lodge of Ireland. SCULLING. The House of Lords has decided the appeal of Vagliano Bros., merchants* of Old Broad street, London, in favor of the Bank of England. EXCITEMENT IN THE CITY. Fearing a revival of the city bear rumors, large blocks of securities are being thrown on the market. THE CRISIS IN HAWAII San Fbancisoo, March 5. The America- Consul at Honolulu has threatened to land a body of marines to prevent bloodshed, in the event of a revolution breaking out.
