LYTTELTON GUN CLUB.
On Wednesday night a meeting was helt In Lyttelton of those interested In the formation of aHi He Club. Mr John Sowden was voted to the chair, and the meeting decided to form a Club, to be known iv the Lyttelton Martini Rifle CSub. A letter was received from Mr R. M. Morten, granting the use of a section of land in Case's Bay for a range, but stipulating that no dogs should be allowed cm tlie property, for fear of them worrying his sheep. The following officers were than elected:—Patron, Mr R. M. Morten | Presldeut, Mr J. B. Milsoco, Mayor of Lyttelton; Vice-President,Mr tj. Beverley; Captain, Mr John Sowdon; Vlee-Gaptaln, Mr A. Manning; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr R. B, Knight; Committee, Messrs Field, Palmer, Treleavcn, Leater, and Brice. It was decided that the subscription for honorary members should be£l ' ls, and that of active toe-mbers 10s pcs annum with 10s entrance ice. The meetiog then adjourned for a fortnight, to allow the Committee to find oat the cost of making a range and cotnpUiJ-ia rules.
