[IRESS AIiSOOIATION TKUKQR^M.] AUCKLAND, March 4. The Weslevan Co&Xerence opened their sittings to-night at Pitt street Wesleyan Church, when the Ber. EL R- Dewsbury was elected President and the Rev. W. Lee was appointed Secretary. The retiring President, theßev. J. J. Lewis, delivered an address, iv which he spoke of the work of the Wealeyan Church, throughout the world. He praised the temperance work of the Bands of Hope, while urging that they should cot become mere vehicles for amusemeuc. Ha maintaiued that the Bible should be read iv the schools and spoke strongly against professional revivalists.
