The time ball is dropped daily, Sundays ft&d holidays excepted, at 1 o'clock p.m., *- ew Zealand mean tii_-_, which is equivalent to 13.30 Greenwich meaa time of the previous day, being calculated for the l7_r 30" East Longitude, _ud llhr 30min fast of Greenwich mean time.
The ball will be raised at about 2min to Ip.m., aud will be tit the top about bnln to 1 p.m. When taking the time be careful to note the exact moment the bail leaves the ion of the mast.
Should the fef-Li pot drop at the proper time, it will be kept at the top for at, least Wo minutes, and then lowered slowly.
