£he time ball is dropped daily. Sundays •ltd holidays ezcepted, at 1 </ciocJc p.m., Rew Zealand mean time, which is equivalent to 18.80 Greenwich mean time of the acerious day, being calculated for the ftp 30" East Longitude, and llhr 30min bet of Greenwich mean time. The ball will be raised at about 2min to Ip.m., and will be at the top about Imin to 1 p.m. When taking the time be careful to oote the exact moment the ball leaves the (op of the mast. bhould the b&ii rmt drop at the proper tfm», it will be kept at the top tor at least {wo minutes, and then lowered Hiowly.
