REEFTON ELECTRIC LIGHT.

(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.] RSEFTON, January 26. The Association of Fire Insurance Companies, a little time back, sent for Mr Meddings, Inspector of Telegraphs, Christ* church, to inspect the Reef ton Electric Light Works and connections, and he having reported unfavorably as regards insulation, switches, and cut outs, the Insurance Companies notify that unless these are made safe before the 14th February they will cancel the policies. The Electric Light Company have sent home for material which cannot reach here before three months.

A requisition to the Chairman of the County Council is being signed, asking him to convene a meeting to discuss the advisability of forming a local Insurance Company. One local man has offered £56,000 as a nucleus provided sufficient support is accorded.
