SYDENHAM MONEY CLUB.

The tenth annual meeting of the Sydenham Money Club was held last night at the local Wesleyan Church schoolroom. Mr J. R. Brunt occupied the chair. There was a good attendance of members. The report and balance-sheet was read by the Treasurer, Mr T. Barry. It showed that there were 480 members, holding 1560 shares, on July Ist, 1890. This number had increased to 500 members, holding 1639 shares. There had been 164 appUcations for loans, and the interest amounted to £304 lis 9d, against £280 17s for the proceeding half-year. The total amount of loans was £2755 3s lOd, making a grand total of £21,211 2s 4d since the inauguration of the Club. The average weekly takings reached £150 10s Id, and the capital now stood at £5426 14s lid. The profit balance was £461 Is lid. From this, after deducting .£155 is lid for expenses and £12 written on? as a loss, there was £294 to be dispensed. The Committee recommended that a bonus of £10 per centum be paid to shareholders on each complete 10s; £15 to be placed to the reserve fund, and the balance to be carried forward.

The auditor's report, which was of a satisfactory character, compUmented the Secretary and Treasurer on the manner in which the books were kept. On the motion of the Chairman, Mr EL Jones,'the report and balance sheet were carried.

The election of officers resulted as under:—Mr J. R. Brunt, President; Mr R. Jones, Vice-President; Messrs J. CampbeU and A Pascoe, Trustees; General Committee, Messrs J. Pearson, G. W. J. Parsons, J. Perks, H. Bonnlngton, W. W. H. Smith, and W. MUler; Finance Committee, Messrs Parsons and Pearson; Treasurer, Mr T. Kershaw; Secretary, Mr T. Barry; and Auditor, Mr T. B. ToneycUffe. Several notices of motion having been dealt with, and votes of thanks passed to the retiring officers, the meeting adjourned.
