(Before Messrs Allan, Oxley and Hardy, v J.P.'s.) Unregistered Doas. — Donald McMillan, Wm. Loekhead, Hugh Muckle, Wm. Ealhara, W. D. Thomas, Jas. Quigley, Thomas Betts, Thomas Ivess, and Wm. Strachan were each fined 10s and costs for being the owner of an unregistered dog during 18%). George Lawdor was fined 20s and costs for having two dogs unregistered for the same period. Alleged Larceny.—Thomas Ivess was charged with the larceny of a cheque, value £5, the property of Wm, Stnbbs, but was remanded to next day. Crvn. Case.—J. M. Broadbcnt sued R, L Gee for the possession of a oottage. An order was made that possession cc given by 30th mat.

Saturday, January 24. (Before Messrs Oxley and Hardy). * Larceny of a Cheque.—Thomas Ivess, on remand, was charged with tha larceny of a cheque, value £5, the property of Wm. Stubbs. Mr Crisp appeared for accused and Sergeant Molfer orosecuted. Accused pleaded *• Not guilty." Tha evidence showed that on a day in November last Stubbs met Ivess in Ashburton and handed him a cheque to get cashed, which he did and spent the proceeds. The Bench sentenced him to one month's imprisonment with hard labor*
