GRAIN AND PRODUCE.

The chief interest in this market is now centred in tbe comine harvest. The crops are ripening rapidly under the influence of continued dry weather, and there is great diversity of opinion as to what the outturn will be. Holders of wheat are scarcely so firm in their ideas, and show more disposition to meet the views of buyers. Reports from most districts point to a marked falling off in the yield of oats, and prices are well maintained despite the Erospect of heavy crops in the south, iarley is also firm with an upward tendency. The heavy showers of last week benefited root crops, but much more moisture is wanted and unless heavy drenching rains fall shortly the yield of potatoes will fall far below the average. The outlook for growers of cocksfoot is very satisfactory, as the crop on the Peninsula promises to be exceptionally good, while prices favour the seller. Ryegrass is now being harvested, but will, be a small one owing to adverse weather. Butter is without change, the only inquiry being for Home shipment, and cheese remains at last week's quotations.
