Monday. The sale o* live stock.at the Addition nnurket held to-day was of very email °* last aemaod tor any fat stock: and all sorts of stores .were 'conspicuous by their absence. Fat sheep, lambs, and fat cattle were present in considerable force, but buyers were slow in. their operations, and a good few lines failed to chaoge hands. Prices all round showed a decided falling off, especially in regard to fat sheep, which went between Iβ and Is 3d per head cheaper. Fat Cattue.—Considerably under fifty yarded, the majority of which were in •very fair condition. The attendance of buyers was small, but the greater part of the entry changed hands at a trifle under last week's rates. A line of well-grazed heifers were the pick of the entry, and for these competition was good. Messrs Pyns and Co. sold 2 cows at £6 ss, 1 at £i 17s 6d, I at £3 15e, 1 heifer at £Q 10s, 1 at £8 7s 6d, 1 at £0 ss. Messrs H. Matsox and Co.. associated with the National M. and A. Company of New Zealand. Limited, sold for Mr E. H. Daniels, 2 head at £3 15s and £i ; for Messrs Field Bros., 12 head at £5 13s. Messrs Dickjsx and Co. sold for Christchurch Drainage Board, 5 at £i to Jto 2s 6d; for a client a Hue of prime heifers at £6 ss. Fat Lambs.—The entry was about halt the sice of last week's. A number of first class lambs occupied the first few pens, and these excited brisk competition. For other sorts the demand was weak, and a decline in values had to be submitted to effect sales. Best sorts made from 9s to Us Od. Messrs Mix.es and Co. sold for Cashmere Estate 12 at 6s to 10s 3d. Messrs Dicken and Co. sold for Mr T. Earushaw 7 at 0s 3d ; for Mr J. Muir, 10 at 8*; for Messrs Voice Bio*., 7at lls 6d ; for Mr T. Gudseli; 8 at 3s Ud; for Mr F. Searle, 14 at 8* 9d to 9s 9«i; for Mr J. Muckle, 9 at 8> 6d; for a client, 51 at 9s Bd to 103 9d; for Mr D. Hawkins, 52 at 9s 3d-to 10* 10d; for Mr Osborne, 15 afc 9s to 10s; for a client, 16 at 8s 7d; for Mr W. Matthews, 5 at 10*. Fat Sheep.—About 2000 yarded, a large portion of which were not tit to he clashed as fat stock. Buyers were not anxious to operate except at reduced prices, and in this they succeeded.
