An examination o£ the. barque Banee, which had to be scuttled alter taking fife, shows that the damage by the etplosioa of gtm ootton is very extensive. There are boles in some eight plates, and it is expected that twenty of them trill hare to be removed. Oα going down between decks it is seen tbat not only are the plates fractured and bint, but one of the iron beams is tested and another one carried away, while the stiengthening plates and angle irons are twisted. Seven of the ribs are fractured affe where the fire originated. Five of the deck beams a*6 twisted- The whoJe of the ftween decks abaft the mizzea is destroyed, the woodwork burnt and the saloon completely gutted. , -.:.'' ' ■ ' : ■ ■
