By -HE Man en the Pit. The Rev. Charles Clark is still doing good business in the North Island. Mr Clark is due to open at the Oddfellows' Hall on the 29th inst., and is sure of a hearty welcome from the many Who ■remember his former visit eleven years ago. The other entertainments in New Zealand may be briefly mentioned thus:— J. L. Toole and his company are still at Opera House, Auckland; Miss Janet Achurch is continuing her season in Wellington with fair success, and the Wild West were to finish at Dunedin in the middle of the week now current, and journey farther south. Mrs Potter's season in Sydney surpasses in Interest and success her previous appearances in that city. She has been doing splendid business at the Theatre Royal At the conclusion of her engagement there she sails for Maorilahd. Miss Clara Merivale, who was here a few months ago with the Royal Opera Company, is now a member of Miss Nellie Stewart's combination in Melbourne, where she is appearing as Fiametta in " Boccaccio." . He is at frseent an inmate of the Melbourne lospitaJ, where he recently underwent tracheotomy, which, though successfully performed, leaves tiie unfortunate man voiceless. He has a large family entirely dependent upon him, and their case Is one deserving of every sympathy. A proposal has been started to give Mr Musgrave a benefit performance at one of the theatres In Melbourne, and we hope ft may be attended with all the Bttcms Which so a case deserves.
